| BALSALL HEATH JUNGLE was a neighbourhood sustainability project in the inner city of Birmingham, UK, specialising in organic gardening. At present it has no activities. We aim to: - protect the natural world by doing things which help the people of Balsall Heath live healthier, happier lives
- increase the amount of organic fruit and vegetables grown and eaten in the area
- educate people about environmental issues
- build bridges between different cultural communities in our work.
Balsall Heath Jungle was established in 1999. The last activities were in 2006 Jungle is not a religious organisation, but the different ways our members have of looking at the world matter to us. One of our Muslim members drew our attention to this passage in the Qur'an Qur'an 16:10-13, while a Christian writer, Dostoyevsky spoke about loving the earth. |
